- The Labor-Management Committee Process Training
Length: 2 Days
Course Category: Labor-Management Services
This training provides committees with a working knowledge of the principles and practices of effective labor-management committees. It engages the learner in lecture, discussion, and individual and group exercises. Committees are encouraged to develop an understanding of how to establish and maintain effective labor-management relationships.
The Labor-Management Services (LMS) Team provides a needs assessment prior to training. The assessment consists of two separate 90-minute sessions, one with labor representatives and one with management representatives. The information that is gathered is used to create a customized training curriculum specific to the committee.
By the end of the class, your committee will be able to:
- Understand the challenges of both labor and management and develop strategies for becoming better allies to each other.
- Learn techniques for building effective working relationships.
- Develop a labor-management committee operating agreement, an agenda development process, and meeting facilitation techniques.
- Practice effective problem-solving techniques.
- Participate in an actual “coached” labor-management committee meeting.
Workforce Development Competencies:
- Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving, and Math
- Interpersonal and Customer Relations
