Reasonable Accommodation Policy

It is the policy of the NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training, in conjunction with the NYS Governor’s Office of Employee Relations and the Civil Service Employee Association (CSEA), to comply with the following:

New York State Human Rights Law;
Sections 503/504 of the Federal Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended;
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA);
Executive Order 6;
Statewide Technology Policy P04-002 and NYS Mandatory Technology Standard S04-001 entitled Accessibility of State Agency Web-based Intranet and Internet Information and Applications revised October 25, 2006.

Partnership staff is committed to assuring equal training opportunities and equal access to services, programs, and activities for persons with disabilities. A sensitivity and awareness of people with disabilities is incorporated and reflected in all Partnership programs and services.

The Partnership has initiated the following:

  • Sensitivity training for all staff

  • Web site compliance with all New York State regulations

  • Statement on reasonable accommodation appears in all written publications as well as applications, forms, and rosters

  • Availability of an Accessibility Coordinator to assist individuals with disabilities in utilizing our programs and services by phone at 800-253-4332 Extension 69001, fax at 518-473-9457 or email at access@nyscseapartnership.org

  • Availability of different web site document formats upon request. If you are having difficulty viewing different file types you may need to install additional software; for Adobe PDF files you can download Adobe Reader

  • Procedures for handling a request for a reasonable accommodation

  • Development of a database of contacts and consultants who can provide a variety of assistance, information, and reasonable accommodations

  • Surveys that provide information on accessibility at training sites

  • Handout on Working with Individuals with Disabilities adapted from the New York State Commission on Quality of Care and Advocacy for Persons with Disabilities
