Adult Education Basics program courses are designed for the adult learner to refresh skills learned long ago and build confidence reading, writing and math calculations. Courses can be requested by labor and management. Additionally, Partnership advisors can provide employees with advice and referrals to appropriate organizations. Tuition Benefits provide educational benefits to CSEA-represented NYS employees, enabling them to achieve greater career mobility, to enhance promotional opportunities, and to prepare for current and future state workforce needs. Clerical and Secretarial program courses are designed around the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of State employees in clerical, secretarial, and office paraprofessional titles as well as in administrative/program traineeships. Institutional and Direct Care programs address a range of interests and needs of institutional and direct care workers. Online Learning offers SkillSoft Business Skills, IT, Desktop Computer Skills, Go Train Safety and Health, and Partnership labor-management online courses. Safety and Health programs offer training that helps create a safe and healthy work environment. Courses provide the skills and information necessary to foster the implementation of safety and health regulations and maintenance of safe work environments. Labor-Management
services help develop skills for fostering cooperation between CSEA leaders and agency managers through contract administration training, labor-management committee training, and other custom training and facilitation. Local, regional, and statewide labor-management representatives work with Partnership staff to learn how to strengthen labor-management relationships and facilitate solutions to problems. Quality of Work Life Grants assist labor and management leaders to improve working conditions and quality of work life. Local labor-management committees may apply for grants to address working condition issues, and support health and wellness, employee recognition programs, and break room equipment purchases. Labor-Management Workforce Development Grants support unique workforce and organizational development challenges such as large scale issues in the workplace or specialized employee job skills training. Proposals require the involvement and collaboration between labor and management and assume agency/Partnership sharing of project costs and resources.
